Our response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of May and June practices and regattas (as a starter)?   We created an 8-week online program for May & June that is being made available to ALL club members no matter what team you are on.   No separate registration or payment is required.  Watch for your team and club level emails via our TeamSnap platform where all registrations, waivers, and most communications come from.

The program uses Zoom meetings so you can join in using your desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone to follow the instructor of the day.  The program consists of 4 main components that are offered on 4 different days each week: Cardio, Strength, Yoga/stretching, and Paddle Coaching & Coaches Corner.  As a result, 4 x 8 = 32 hours of programming has been arranged in details.  As we are all at home, the program has been designed to use minimal equipment and what you have at home already, including suggestions for improvising. 

The program was designed by a committee of 5 core members, led by coach Natalie Wong of the Guns n Roses team who will lead the Coaching component.  The Strength component will be lead by Kinesiologist Phil Toppin of WISP Fitness.  We are excited to partner with Phil to provide this program which is most requested by our members.  Coach Gary Pang of the One Gorgeous Boat team will lead the Cardio component of the program.  Yoga meister Kay Baird of the Pink Crusaders will run the weekly Yoga program.  Backing up this Fab Four in the background is club founder Tim MacFarlane who sees the incredible value of this type of program for the future, especially in "off-seasons".

There will be other bonus sessions and special guests over the course of the program, including sessions on basic Nutrition, but also getting into advanced nutrition for athletes.

This is the fifth year for this team. Join us and spend your summer months enjoying the paddling, camaraderie, and fresh air on waterfront that comes with this team. New this year is monthly video review - where we take video of team paddling and can look at it later to identify areas where the team can improve. This is an invaluable tool to becoming a better team. We have two dedicated co-captains identified very early on to help plan for an amazing year!
