This will be the fifth year that the Rusty Dragons have supported teams for youth (aged 12 and up) and young adults with an intellectual or other disability. We are also encouraging family members and friends to join the team. We like to think of this team as a Mixed Ability team open to anyone of any ability.

This is the fifth year for this team. Join us and spend your summer months enjoying the paddling, camaraderie, and fresh air on waterfront that comes with this team. New this year is monthly video review - where we take video of team paddling and can look at it later to identify areas where the team can improve. This is an invaluable tool to becoming a better team. We have two dedicated co-captains identified very early on to help plan for an amazing year!
This special team practices once a week on Saturdays in June. The team will then race at the 20th anniversary Canada Day Regatta on Toronto Island. We all missed racing in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we are finally back and excited to train and race together.
New this year is we are moving to a new and much better practice site. It is close to the old site. See the Practice Site Page for more details on the location. There are many advantages to the new site, including free unlimited parking, cleaner air and water, a bigger bay to train on with less congestion and other boats, and more room on land to warm up and get ready for practice.
The team is being sibsidized by both the Rusty Dragons (no membership fees and reduced coaching costs), and the Outer Harbour Dragon Boat Club (providing free practices).
